Account Manager/Sales - Paper Recycling

You have a solid track record of successful sales to industrial or commercial buyers – customers who know their business and expect knowledgeable sales people.  Your competitive drive means you have developed a selling technique that gives you a demonstrated history of solid sales growth.  While your relationship-based sales style leads to consistent repeat business and the ability to ask for referrals, your cold call techniques and strong networking skills assure you a constant stream of new business. Your intelligence and sales drive means you can readily translate your past sales success to a new industry enabling you to achieve and exceed your sales goals.

We are the Midwest’s leading paper recycler, demonstrating solid growth and continuous reinvestment in the company. Processing and brokering more than 150,000 tons of recovered fiber each year, we are looking for the right person to grow the business, with a focus on printers, binderies, converters and other large-scale paper users and paper waste generators.  Privately owned and well-established, we have a strong commitment to sustainable business practices, from “green” operations to integrity in all decision-making and respect for clients and employees. 

Our company generously rewards performers and motivated self-starters - those who make their sales goals while at the same time building integrity-based relationships with customers and co-workers. Lone wolves looking to make a fast buck will not be successful.  But, you don’t need to be a slick corporate salesperson. Industry training and support will be provided to the right person.  This position will be based in our Chicago office but will require some travel throughout the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Wisonsin, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Iowa.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and goal driven, with at least six years of successful sales experience selling capital equipment or other products to commercial and/or industrial buyers.  A committed networker and cold-caller, the successful candidate is able to generate appointments and leads through his or her own efforts.  The successful candidate’s strong communication skills (including listening!) enables him or her to successfully manage the sales cycle from lead generation through close, including developing proposals which convey solutions to meet the clients’ needs. 

We offer an uncapped commission, starting with a $4,500 monthly base, (but you should end up making more that twice that amount).  We pay your travel expenses, and offer two weeks paid vacation, health and medical benefits (BCBS), and a simple retirement program with 3% match.
