You are a good Business Analyst, and you know it. Mapping business processes and streamlining those processes to bring businesses to a higher level of efficiency is something you really enjoy. The impact you can have on a business’ bottom line and on improving individual efficiency really excites you! But then, there is the OTHER part of the job: the budgeting, invoicing, schedules, status reports and power point slides. With the number of people you need to go through to get changes approved, it takes perseverance to keep things moving forward.
Highland Solutions has an opportunity that maximizes your impact by focusing your time on working with the client’s subject matter experts and the developers; mapping, streamlining, and automating processes. This process minimizes the time you spend creating power point slides, scheduling updates, and requirements modifications so that you can get more done, and the clients see changes faster!
Our Adaptive Software Development process relies on the Business Analyst to really get to know, and understand, the client’s business processes. This enables you to represent them clearly to the development team. This is a very hands on role. By developing a deep understanding of the client’s business through working with them from pre-sale through project completion, your understanding and communication is integral to the team’s success. And not just on this project; we find that our deep integration with the client’s processes usually results in almost continual follow-on work.
Our ideal candidate has 3 – 7 years experience as a Business Analyst, at least some of which is in an Agile/Adaptive environment. Your co-workers would describe you as inquisitive and a quick-learner, you take initiative and bear personal responsibility for your work. Juggling multiple projects is a challenge you relish. Communication skills (both verbal and written) are extremely important for your success in this role, so you should be able to demonstrate them through the hiring process.

Demand for our services is skyrocketing, and we need a solid team member to help us grow. Many of our projects are in the Chicago area, but the position would require about 20% travel to client offices.
