With a “dashboard” of key performance indicators you can instantly know where to put your effort to obtain maximum results. If those numbers are distributed to the whole management team, every week--or every day--it helps align the priorities of the whole team and ensure that you are managing your time appropriately. It also improves the structure of staff meetings or leadership committee meetings by providing a necessary focus on what needs to change, while leaving out those indicators that are “in the green.” Lastly, the owner can act quickly if performance is out of whack.
